When Anna Hazel arrives in Crete to work on an archaeological dig for the summer, she has yet to meet her new boss, the brilliant but mysterious Dr William Sillery. He has a reputation as a slave-driver.

As Anna begins to enjoy the sun-drenched Greek island, she also develops a friendship with the darkly handsome host of her villa, Vangelis.
